Book Review - Lonestar Angel by Colleen Coble

Lonestar Angel by Colleen Coble is a Christian fiction. The main characters Clay and Eden were torn apart when they lost their infant daughter during a kidnapping. They reunite after five years to try solve the mystery behind the event and if their daughter is still alive. The book takes you to Texas to the Bluebird Ranch with five children in the foster care system. The main characters take counselor jobs at the ranch to spend time with kids and discover if one is their long lost daughter. The book is a combination of romance, mystery and drama.

I thought the story started off slow and in an awkward place in the storyline. The pace of the story did take off eventually and kept up til the end. There were almost too many characters in the book to keep track of, though. I had to flip back to remember who was who and the details of their life. It was written clearly and held my interest enough to want to know how it would turn out. I liked the book but as the reader, I didn’t connect to the main characters as much as I’d normally want. But overall, the book was a good read but not great.
